We’ve heard lots of great things about Margate’s recent Independence Day celebration, referred to by MargateNews.net as “Margate’s biggest party of the year.”
This year’s celebration seemed extra-special, as we are also celebrating Margate’s 60th. An estimated 6,000+ partygoers were on hand for the big soiree this year, most of them in the area at the corner of Margate Boulevard and 441.
The parade itself was complete with lots of great food and drinks, music and over 40 floats. Food trucks served BBQ favorites, burgers, fries and so much more. One of the musical acts was an R&B group led by Margate resident Valerie Tyson, and we have heard great things about this performance. And of course, the fun night was topped off with a memorable display of fireworks.
The celebration also included fundraising for the Shetland All Stars, the youth baseball team that will be representing Margate at the Pony League World Series in Louisiana later this month.
